Christmas festivities!

This month we have had a lot going on at the Shanks house! My brother (Uncle) Chris graduated from college with a Bachelors in Business! We went to the Prestonwood "A Gift of Christmas " program , we did some Christmas art with some friends , we visited with Santa , we were in our FIRST Christmas program at church, took Christmas photos , and are growing, exploring, and leaning more and more each day!

Zoey went PEE PEE in the POTTY!

When I started Wesley on the potty , Zoey wasn't too interested , but now she is! She PEED one night when we got home , and then the next morning she POOPED in the potty!! Go ms Zoey! Proud mama right here!!

15 m Stats!

So the babies are 15 m!  OMG where has the time gone ??!!

Zoey -  22 lbs 4 oz  31.25 in.  She is talking alot more.  She says ducka, all done, what is it, who is it, and shoes.  She knows where her nose is :) She knows how to clean up her toys :)  She is in a size 4 shoe :) 18 month clothes :) She has 12 teeth :) Loves to have her teeth brushed and flossed! Walking and Running all over the place!  She is so sneaky- she will run and hide from us...lol She loves her baby doll, she sings to her and rocks her to sleep , its so sweet! She gives hugs and kisses :):)  Santa may be bringing her some more....we will see! 

Wesley-  23lbs 13 oz 32.25 in.  He is talking a lot more.  He says ducky, all done, what is it , who is it, socks ( he can even take is socks off ) He knows where is nose is :) He knows how to clean up his toys :) He is in a size 4/5 shoe :) 18 month clothes :) He has 8 teeth and 2 more coming in :) Not a fan of getting his teeth brushed and flossed! He loves the remote...the minute we come downstairs or get home from somewhere he runs to the table to grab the remote...cutest thing! He loves his footballs!  He has one that plays the OU song, and he dances every time! He gives hug and kisses:):)


Dr said they are BOTH advanced in their development for their age :) :)

Wesley went PEE PEE in the POTTY!!

So I started Potty training a few weeks ago as I wrote.....WESLEY has been peeing and he even POOPED in in the POTTY!  He pees and then gets up!  SO CUTE!I am the proudest momma EVER!  He is doing awesome!
ZOEY- is not so interested right now.....but I still sit her on the potty!

Potty training begins.....

You are probably thinking I am crazy!!They are only 13 months old! Yeah well we are just "introducing it" They sit on the potty every time I change their diaper, when they wake up in the mornings, before and after bath, and before bedtime! Tonight Wesley went PEE PEE in the POTTY!  Proud moment for this momma! So I will keep you updated on how it goes!

13 m updates !

We have been busy these days!
We are 13 months old, almost 14 now!We are both fully walking now!  Have been for about a month and a half! Ms. Zoey has about 12 teeth, she has a ton of hair ( growing by the minute) , still says momma and dada, she wears a size 3 shoe now and is in 12-18 month clothes, still sleeping through the nights. 
Mr. Wesley has 2 teeth and 3 more are starting to come in (finally) His hair is growing but mostly in the back, he says "who dat" and "who is it " and momma and dada, he wears a size 3 shoe, he is in 12-18 month clothes, still sleeps through the night. 

They love their new carseats! We got them the Sunday after their 1st Birthday Party! Got a great deal on them too! Babies R Us rocks! We went to the Fair for the first time ! They actually got to see "BIG TEX" They had a blast seeing all the animals and shows! Grandpa Cano finally painted their new room, so they have their own room now.....ill post more pictures when I get it all decorated and finished! They LOVE playing together in there! Ive been looking for a chest of drawers for their room for their clothes....so keep your eyes out! We also went to the Dentist for the 3rd time!  Love Dr. Fields! Their teeth are doing great! We brush 2 times a day and floss once a day! Love their lil pearly whites! Enjoy all the pictures!

Ladies and Gentlemen.......Drum roll please....WE HAVE 2 WALKERS!

Yes! They are finally both walking!  Not fully yet, but we are super close!  I am the proudest mommy! They have been getting a lot of practice these days!  Wesley was being super lazy, but last weekend ....BAM he just started going at it! He was beating Zoey big time, but she is catching up! Stay tuned....next thursday we go to our 3rd Dentist Appointment! Zoey now has 9 teeth and another one is coming in!  Wesley still has just 2! We also got to watch the rain!

Zoey and Wesley's 1st birthday party!!

Saturday September 1st we had Zoey and Wesley's 1 st Monkey Birthday party! We had a blast! Tons of people came ! Babies were so worn out after everyone left !They fell asleep about 6pm that night. Enjoy the pics! Stay tuned for our year photos with Amy Mcgehee!

12 month stats ( sorry a lil late )

Zoey- Zoey is 19 lbs 9 oz 29 1/2 in tall, and her head circumference is 17 3/4 in.
She is walking, she has 8 teeth, still saying duck, still exploring all over the place, she gives hugs and kisses. Still sleeps through the night :) Says thank you ( in her own lil way ) 


Wesley- Wesley is 20 lbs 15.5 oz = 21 lbs pretty much. 31 1/2 in tall and his head circumference is 18 in. 
He is walking ( better than zoey as of this week ) he still has 2 teeth , He is still exploring all over the place.   He gives hugs and kisses.  Still sleeps through the night. He can pop his tongue.   

They LOVE their wagon they got for their 1st birthday party!  I will update with pics from their party this week I PROMISE! 

 

11 month updates...

So I can't believe that my babies are 11 months old already!

Zoey- She is starting to walk/stand on her own!  Taking a few steps here and there....hopefully fully walking by their birthday! She has 7 teeth and another one is coming in! She said "mama" , "dada", and "ducka" ( duck) She is starting to climb on things, using her sippy cup! 

Wesley- He is standing on his own, but not taking any steps by himself yet. He is about 2-3 weeks behind lil zoey.  He says "mama", and "dada".  He has 1 lil tooth coming in on the bottom!  He uses his sippy cup good, but hes not a fan of water too much!

They are both on the last setting on their car seats, so big car seats coming soon!  I am still nursing and going strong!  I plan to nurse till they self wean!

We took the babies to the pool the for the first time last week! They had a blast!When we got home they took a GREAT nap!

Fathers day 2012

On Daniel's 1st Father's day we went to Ihop for breakfast! We had a GREAT DAY as a family!

Tonight I was singing zoey to sleep and started tearing up! I was singing "you are my sunshine " I am so thankful that my babies are so healthy!

9 Month Stats!

While the babies nap I thought I would update y'all on their stats from today!

Zoey Jean weighs 16 lbs 9.5 oz and is 27.5 in. Her head circumference is 17.25 in .  Dr Chambers said she is growing good and is super healthy!

Wesley Wayne weighs 17 lbs 11oz and is 28 in.  His head circumference is 17.25.  Dr Chambers said he is growing good and is super healthy!

No shots today!  Our next appointment is for 12 month shots! OMG my babies are growing WAY too fast!

I have been planning their party!  It's gonna be a BLAST! 

Our new friend Kolten Thomas !

Our new friend Kolten was born Wednesday June 6 th at 11:36 am 7 lbs 13 oz 21 in long ! We can't wait till he gets a lil bigger so we can play with him! My friend B.J now has 3 girls and a boy.  She has a precious family!

So now that zoey has enough hair I have been putting it in a pony tail once in a while! This is big for a lil girl! She doesn't even fight me she sits so still!  I am thankful for that now......in the future it may not be that easy!

This past Sunday we went to some our friends wedding! Had a blast! Dan met Daniel in High School.  He was in our wedding in 08.  We met his lovely Bride Annietra later on.  They are so perfect together.  They had a very fun wedding and reception in Dallas!  Enjoy the pics!

So I got a new car! It's a 2004 jeep Cherokee ! I finally have a car that can fit the babies and me! I don't have to ask my brother if I can use my mustang to drive!
